April 2024 brings a once-in-a-lifetime event for viewing a total solar eclipse across Mexico and the United States. Sevier County Arkansas is the best place to view the 2024 total solar eclipse. Located along the path of the center of totality, communities like Gillham, De Queen, Horatio, and Lockesburg will have the highest visibility and longest lengths of totality viewing in the state of Arkansas.

totality - full coverage of the moon over the sun
path of totality - an orbital path that the eclipse will take - for the 2024 eclipse that is a North American route from Mexico to Main. The closer a location is to the “center” of the path the longer the duration of exposure.
solar eclipse - when the orbital alignment of the sun and moon pass each other
total solar eclipse - when the moon in its orbital line is closer to the earth than the sun and will completely cover the sun’s visual surface as they pass
